Job Description: Manager of Administration and Programming, Beit Midrash Harโ€™el

Background: Our aim at Beit Midrash Harโ€™el (www.har-el.org) is to train the next generation of Jewish religious leaders who are committed to Halacha and equipped to lead with knowledge, compassion, and a nuanced understanding of modernity. Our programs include a three-year Rabbinic Ordination Fellowship Program, a Rabbinical Continuing Education Program, the Collaborative Seminar for the Study of the Jewish Interpretive Tradition, as well as related public activities and events.

Position Overview: The Manager of Administration and Programming serves as the operational backbone of Beit Midrash Har’el based in Jerusalem, ensuring smooth operations, administrative coordination and programming across all organizational functions. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders both locally and internationally. The Manager should work onsite 2-3 days per week at our facility in Jerusalem and the rest of the time remotely.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial and Facilities Administration
โ— Oversee day-to-day operations and smooth functioning of the beit midrash facility
โ— Manage accounts payable and maintain vendor relationships
โ— Oversee receipt and processing of donations and other incoming payments
โ— Coordinate with outsourced bookkeeping resources
โ— Support preparation of end-of-year financial reporting and amutah filings
โ— Plan and coordinate overseas travel logistics for faculty and institutional representatives

Student Affairs & Academic Administration
โ— Serve as registrar, managing student records, enrollment, and academic calendar
โ— Oversee the rabbinical fellowship program including administration, payments and communications
โ— Coordinate student life programming and community-building initiatives
โ— Manage academic scheduling and course logistics
โ— Facilitate communication between students, faculty, and administration

Events and Programming Management
โ— Plan, coordinate, and execute events and programming in Israel, overseas, and online
โ— Manage logistics for educational seminars, conferences, and community programs
โ— Coordinate content collection, review, and translation processes for our Collaborative Seminar

Required Qualifications:
โ— Strong organizational and project management skills with ability to work independently
โ— Excellent communication skills in Hebrew and English
โ— Proficiency with financial software and administrative systems
โ— Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information

Preferred Qualifications:
โ— Familiarity with Israeli regulatory requirements for non-profit organizations
โ— Experience in non-profit administration, preferably with Israeli amutot
โ— Background in Jewish educational or religious organizations
